Klaus
Stenzel, born in Berlin, Germany
After
working 5 years as a commercial director for a Berlin company
which
specialized in ornamental residential and
commercial stucco design, Klaus acquired an agency renowned
as a production facility for advertising displays and
signs. The company’s in-house development department
served global clients such as Coca-Cola, Nestle, BAT, Reemtsma,
Mattel, Playmobil, numerous German and international
breweries
and several major department stores.
Klaus
holds an advanced degree in business management and is married
and the proud
father of three adult children.
He
has served as a member of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce,
as a President of
the French-German Society
and
on the advisory council for the patrons of the renowned
College of Music in Detmold. For 22 years, he has
been the president of the Patrons for the Leopoldinum, a
gymnasium in Detmold, which has a history of more than
400 years.
He is also an active member on the ‘board of
patrons’ for
the Lippische State Museum.
In
2005, Klaus sold his company, re-evaluated his life and decided
to focus
on his long-term passion:
the
world of the fine arts. Since then, Klaus has been
a consultant
to companies in the field of his former business.
In 2008 he decided to become the cofounder of Travel
to
Art and
partnered with his longtime friend and business
partner, Rolf Goellnitz.
Klaus,
who has been an art collector since 1965, is an expert in
modern and contemporary art. Being so involved in the fine
arts, Klaus has been a member of several art societies in
Munich,
Duesseldorf, Arnsberg,
Oerlinghausen and Goslar for over 30 years, and
has often
acted as a consultant as well. In his function
as advisory council of the Lippische Art Society,
he
gives decisive
input concerning the new exhibitions which focus
strongly on young and upcoming artists.
Constantly
curious about the latest developments and traveling to
exhibitions, Klaus has established
countless
close relationships
to artists, galleries and curators – relationships
that he is excited to share with you.
